PAUL – Elaine Ann Greenwood Stevenson passed away peacefully at her home on Mother's Day, May 10, 2026, at the age of 89. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

She was born February 25, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, to Frank Crystal and Jennie Pearl Thornton Greenwood. She had an older brother, Ray John Greenwood. On August 9, 1942, the family moved to American Fork, Utah. She attended school in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School in 1955.

She attended Brigham Young University for one year. The next year she decided to go to LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, and graduated in May of 1958. A few weeks later her friend invited her to go to Idaho on a blind date. There, she met the love of her life, John Albert "Bert" Stevenson. After a short courtship, they were sealed for time and all eternity on February 5, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. To this union were born two sons, Scott Albert Stevenson and Dean Frank Stevenson; and one daughter, Annette Elaine Stevenson.

Elaine was an active and stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous callings in Primary, Relief Society, and as president of the Young Women. She was passionate about family history and was deeply committed to finding and learning about ancestors.

After her family was raised Elaine became involved in local and state politics as a way to support Bert in his endeavors. She served on the Minidoka County Republican Committee for several years. Once Bert was elected to the State Legislature, she became active with the Legisladies where she met many dear and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jennie Greenwood; her brother, Ray Greenwood; one grandson, Kenny Albert Stevenson; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Kay Stevenson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John A. "Bert" Stevenson; her two sons, Scott (Tammy) Stevenson and Dean (Ellen) Stevenson; and her daughter, Annette (Scott) Roth; as well as 11 grandchildren, Nicole Stevenson, Casey (Kayleann) Stevenson, Grant (Taylor) Stevenson, Benjamin (Shae) Stevenson, Lucas (Betsy) Stevenson, Jacob Stevenson, Erin (Jason Grant) Roth, Michelle (Grant DePoy) Roth, Christopher (Hailey) Roth, Brooke (Alice) Roth, and Natalie Roth; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Paul Idaho Stake Center, located at 424 W. Ellis St., in Paul, with Bishop Chris James officiating. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and beginning one hour prior to the service, at the church, on Monday.
